Jyoti is a psychological drama about Sharmeen, a reserved seamstress in Karachi who begins to fall for her neighbor, Jahanzeb. But as she opens herself to love, long-buried trauma resurfaces in the form of Jyoti — a voice from her past shaped by violent fiction and generational silence. The film explores how we inherit stories, and how those stories can both protect and imprison us.

In Karachi’s narrow homes, a quiet seamstress’s world begins to unravel when a kind suitor opens the door to love — and reawakens a haunting voice from her past, all while she cares for a bedridden father with a history of resentment.
