Abubakar Khan is a producer specializing in feature films, with deep expertise in development, film financing, and service productions. He is currently producing Running Dry, a Saudi-funded eco-thriller, and The Alchemy of Being Okay, a Wayfarer Studios film supported by the Sundance Institute that recently wrapped up principal photography. He was the Executive Producer on, and led the U.S. Awards and Fundraising Campaign for The Glassworker, Pakistan’s official submission to the 2024 Academy Awards, brokering distribution deals with Watermelon Pictures and Crunchyroll.
Abubakar’s recent credits include serving as Production Manager on Mustache (SXSW 2023 Audience Award winner) and contributing to multiple series as a Business Affairs Associate at Lark Productions (Law & Order: Toronto, Allegiance). He previously served as Vice-Chair of the Canadian Media Producers Association, is a graduate of the Norman Jewison Producers’ Lab at the Canadian Film Centre, and is an alum of the Canadian Academy Executive Residency Program.
